Internal vs external cheats: what is the difference
Cheat names often include the words Internal or External. It is not a model or version — it is the way the cheat works with the game.
Internal cheats
An internal cheat is loaded into the game process and works from the inside. That gives it direct access to the game's data and functions, so internal cheats usually have more features, and their menu opens right on top of the game.
External cheats
An external cheat is a separate program that runs next to the game and reads its data from the outside without loading into its process. It draws its visuals (ESP, radar) over the game window. External cheats usually have fewer features — most often ESP and an aimbot.
Which is safer
There is no single answer: a lot depends on how the cheat is made and which anti-cheat it faces. Go by the status of the specific cheat — see the article about statuses.
What about DMA cheats?
A DMA cheat is the third option: it runs not on the gaming PC but on a second computer and gets data through a DMA card. Details — in the article what is a DMA cheat.
How to tell which one you are looking at
The type is often in the name: for example, Disconnect Internal and Disconnect External. If the name does not say, check the description on the product page.
